Its a Good Day to have a Good Day

Don't you just love it when after having a journal background done for a while you somehow get to utilise it into a page you kind of like.

I'll be honest with you its not one of my favourites but I am happy with how it turned out and proud that I used both doodling (something which usually terrifies me) and some hand written journalling into the spread.

The background consisted of a base layer of tissue paper from Tim Holtz Ideology range mixed with book text and music.  This was then color tinted using Luminarte Silks in pink azalea and periwinkle.

Next I put black gesso through sequin waste in a number of places.

I then put white gesso through a rectangular patterned stencil to lighten the spread.

I added some handwritten journalling then added two Graphic 45 quotes to the double page spread, adding some doodling to the boarders and white tippex tape to make the quotes pop.

I really hope that you like what I made of this spread, please feel free to leave a comment below.

Documented Life: week 1 Goals

This is the second page of a double page spread (see Pathways entry).
The same technique was used for this background.  But to embellish the page to keep with the theme of Goals, I decorated a cut down mail envelope which I coloured with Neocolor II in light blue and carmine then using a Zentangle butterfly stencil used my faber castell pitt pen to outline and fill them in.  I then added some doodling and the sentiment "give your goals wings to fly".
Inside the envelope I created some faux lolly poos using card scraps stamped with an assortment of images and again colourised with Neocolor IIs, I then listed my goals on each of the sticks and then adhered a paper flower to each stick using a glue gun and the centres were highlighted with liquid pearls.
I hope you like this page, please feel free to leave a comment.

Journal 52: week 1 Pathways

This page was inspired by a new weekly challenge through Journal 52 and s you will see is part of a double page spread from the next blog post for Documented Life.
This page started out in my large Dylusions journal with torn book pages and gesso as a base.
I then out modelling paste through two stencils the first a flourish and the second circles and butterflies (I think from TCW).
Once this was dry, I mixed up some Golden soft gel with Finnibairs new art sugar in black and out it through a cracks stencil to add in some textural dimension and colour.
I then sealed the page with clear gesso before applying a colour tint using periwinkle, light blue, carmine and yellow Neocolor IIs.
I then blended the colour using water spray to create dripa and some blending using baby wipes.
The quote was sourced off the internet by Horace and was used to remind me to be mindful of my depression influencing my path.
I hope you like this page, keep an eye out for my other pages for 2015.
